Lighthouse Academy is an advanced training environment for creative technologists and AI professionals focused on building production-ready generative AI workflows and scalable visual pipelines. The 2025 cohort course Advanced ComfyUI: Build, Automate & Scale AI Workflows guided participants over 13 weeks through deep workflow design, automation, model training, 3D integration, and real-world production systems, moving from experimental setups to structured, deployable infrastructures.
Within this program, I contributed as a mentor and led the final session of the cohort, focusing on coding custom ComfyUI nodes. As an active contributor to the ComfyUI ecosystem and member of the lum3on node collective, I designed and delivered a hands-on module that introduced participants to node development from first principles and progressively moved toward advanced implementation. The session combined foundational Python concepts, ComfyUI node architecture, and AI-assisted “vibe-coding” approaches, enabling participants to iteratively build and register their first functional custom node within a production pipeline.
The course emphasized practical understanding over theory: starting with basic code literacy and structural comprehension, then advancing step-by-step into modular node design, debugging, and integration into existing workflows. By the end of the three hour session, participants had developed their own simple nodes and gained a clear framework for extending ComfyUI through custom tools, automation, and collaborative development. My contribution focused on lowering the barrier to technical authorship while reinforcing professional-grade coding practices and scalable pipeline thinking within contemporary generative AI production.
